Terms and Conditions

1. Purpose

These General Terms and Conditions govern the contracting of vehicle rental services through the website https://mueveteconpepe.com/, owned by Muévete con Pepe SL. By making a reservation, the customer accepts these conditions.

Included in the price:

​

• VAT and taxes included.

• 60 minutes grace period from the agreed pick‑up time.

• Unlimited mileage.

• Theft protection for the vehicle.

• Personal accident assistance (PAI).

• Third‑party liability insurance.

 

This coverage does not include damage to the vehicle; in such cases, the customer must pay the excess (depending on the model). To cover these items, it is necessary to take out additional insurance, Full Coverage (No Excess), whose conditions are explained below.

In the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle, the customer is required to fill in an accident/damage report and hand it in at our office. Likewise, in the event of theft of the vehicle, the customer is obliged to report it to the police and submit the police report at our office.

Any accident or damage to the vehicle that is not reported will be interpreted as negligence on the part of the customer and may result in additional costs.

​

The insurance taken out by the lessor covers the lessee and the drivers authorised in this contract for civil liability (damage to third parties).

​

The insurance allows rental to persons over 24 years of age, with at least 3 years of driving experience and up to 80 years of age.

​

Not included in the price and considered as extras:

• 1st–2nd driver free, additional drivers €5.00/day.

 

Any accessory such as GPS, child seats, etc. can be hired at an additional cost, with prices shown at the time of booking.

The following cases of loss or damage are not covered by the insurance with/without excess and will therefore be borne by the customer:

• Loss or damage of the keys.

• Wrong fuel.

• Damage to the underbody and interior of the vehicle.

• Towing service (only when the customer has acted with negligence not covered by the insurance).

• Damage to the clutch and gearbox.

• Broken windows or forced doors due to leaving objects visible in the vehicle that may be stolen, together with the resulting damage to the vehicle.

 

Rental days calculation:
From 1 to 2 DAYS = during business hours.

If the customer takes out “Full Coverage / No Excess”, no deposit will be blocked or provisionally charged to the payment card.

​

At the time of vehicle pick‑up, a valid passport or ID card, driving licence and a bank card must be presented. If the card is different from the one used to pay for the reservation, the card must be physically shown to our staff upon request.

Insurance and coverages

​

Basic Coverage: The rental rates also include MUEVETE CON PEPE SL BASIC COVERAGE, which covers damage to the vehicle as a result of:

​

• Collision.

• Theft.

• Fire or accidental vandalism.

 

Basic Coverage includes an excess for these damages, for which the customer is directly responsible. This excess must be guaranteed by providing the corresponding deposit or by taking out Additional Coverage.

​

The following cases are expressly excluded from the insurance (with or without excess):

​

1. Vehicle interior and underbody.

2. Tyre punctures and blowouts.

3. Damage caused to the clutch and gearbox.

4. Replacement vehicle, if the renter is responsible for the damage.

5. Battery recharge.

6. Loss or breakage of keys.

7. Wrong fuel.

 

Full Coverage (No Excess)

 

Rental rates do not include FULL COVERAGE, which covers the damages expressly excluded from Basic Coverage. This coverage can be taken out at the time of booking, in the section EXTRAS / FULL COVERAGE / PRICE ACCORDING TO CATEGORY, or at vehicle pick‑up, and will only be valid if the customer meets the stated conditions.

If you have taken out insurance with no excess, you do not have to pay for the damage caused, except for the cases excluded from the insurance in the event of negligence, and the rental days for the replacement of another vehicle if the renter is responsible for the damage caused.

​

Full Coverage does not include:

a) Damage to the interior and underbody of the vehicle.
b) Tyre punctures and blowouts.
c) Replacement vehicle in the event of a collision when the renter is at fault.
d) Reckless driving or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
e) A person not included in the contract driving the vehicle.
f) Loss or breakage of the key.
g) Wrong fuel.

 

Unauthorised use

​

It is the customer’s obligation not to allow the vehicle to be driven by persons other than those authorised under this contract; otherwise, the customer will be directly liable for any damage caused to the vehicle or to third parties.

​

Any breach of the provisions set out in these paragraphs shall be understood as unauthorised use.

​

The customer will be fully liable for damage caused to the interior and exterior parts of the vehicle due to unauthorised use and will be obliged to pay all costs incurred in accordance with these terms.

Unauthorised use includes, but is not limited to:

a) Pushing or towing any other vehicle.
b) Driving in places not suitable for public transport, such as beaches, racetracks, forest tracks, country roads, etc.
c) Driving on unpaved roads or roads with serious defects that may cause damage to the underbody of the vehicle.
d) Transporting goods or animals and substances that are particularly dangerous, flammable and/or harmful to the vehicle and its occupants.
e) Sub‑renting the vehicle.
f) Using the vehicle for any activity contrary to the law.
g) Transporting more persons or more luggage than the vehicle is authorised to carry.
h) Leaving visible objects in the vehicle that may be stolen, causing damage to the vehicle.
i) Making the interior of the vehicle dirtier than what is considered reasonable and careful use.
j) Driving the vehicle while tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol, medication or drugs.
k) Reckless driving.
l) Using the vehicle for driving lessons in any circumstances and/or for teaching any special driving skills.
m) Driving contrary to traffic regulations.
n) Driving the rented vehicle by a person not authorised in the contract, whether as main driver(s) and/or additional driver(s).
ñ) Driving the vehicle outside the island of Mallorca, unless there is express written authorisation from the company in both cases and the corresponding EXTRA ADDITIONAL COVERAGE has been taken out and paid.
o) Using the vehicle after the rental period has ended.

 

Unauthorised use by the customer entitles Muévete con Pepe SL to terminate the Rental Agreement early due to breach of contract and, where appropriate, to claim compensation for damages.

 

Credit cards

 

VISA and Mastercard cards are accepted. Both the excess and its waiver must always be paid by credit card. If the customer chooses the CDW option, payment by debit card is allowed.

 

Roadside assistance

 

Available 365 days a year.

 

Fuel policy

​

When the vehicle is delivered, we check the fuel level, and the customer must return it with the same level. If the customer does not return the vehicle with the same fuel level, €10 will be charged, plus the difference in fuel, as a refuelling fee.

​

Traffic fines

 

Muévete con Pepe  SL is legally obliged to provide the authorities with the details of customers who receive a traffic fine during the rental period.

​

The customer must pay the fine directly to the authorities.

 

Restrictions

 

• Vehicles may not be taken abroad or between islands.

• Customers must provide us with a local address (apartment, house, hotel, etc.).

• The minimum age of the driver is 24 years, with a driving licence held for more than 3 years and up to 80 years of age.

• If the reserved vehicle category is not available at the time of pick‑up, a higher category vehicle will be provided at no additional cost.

• The insurance does not cover, under any circumstances, accidents and damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication or any other substance that reduces the driver’s ability, nor when the driver is not authorised to drive the rented vehicle or, even if authorised, the accident occurs in breach of the contract or basic traffic rules.

• The transport of goods or animals may only be carried out with the express consent of Muévete con Pepe SL. Failure to comply with these rules may require special cleaning and an additional cost.

 

Theft and loss of personal belongings

 

Muévete con Pepe SL is not responsible for items stolen, forgotten or lost inside the vehicle.

 

Deposit

 

Unless the customer has taken out the optional Full Coverage (in EXTRAS), a deposit must be paid when the vehicle is delivered; the amount depends on the vehicle category.

 

Standard or extreme cleaning

 

The rental price includes standard cleaning of the vehicle; however, if the vehicle is returned in a state of extreme dirtiness, Muévete con Pepe SL will be obliged to charge €100–€150 for special cleaning.

 

Booking cancellation

 

Cancellations without penalty must be made at least 24 hours before the start of the rental. One rental day will be charged at the rate in force at the time of cancellation.

 

Late return of the vehicle

 

If the vehicle is returned later than the date agreed in the rental contract, the insurance will become invalid and the customer will be responsible for paying 1 rental day after the grace period (60 minutes).

 

Vehicle pick‑up at the airport

 

The pick‑up and drop‑off service at the airport is free of charge. The customer will pay the parking ticket at Palma airport at the time of pick‑up. The amount of the ticket will not exceed €5 (except in the event of a flight delay without prior notice), with the exception of deliveries between 20:00 and 08:00.

Muévete con Pepe SL will pay the parking ticket when the customer returns the vehicle at the end of the contract, within our business hours (8:00 to 19:00). If the customer returns the vehicle outside these hours, they must pay the parking ticket themselves; the price is €2.90 per hour.

Mandatory approved child restraint device

​

If the vehicle is used to transport children under three years of age or persons under 150 centimetres in height, the customer must inform Muévete con Pepe so that we can provide, upon payment of the corresponding rental fee and without anchoring it to the vehicle, the appropriate approved child restraint device according to the weight and height of the child or person who will use it. The installation of the device is always the responsibility of the customer.

Translation

 

The translations of these General Terms and Conditions are for information purposes only and are not legally binding in every detail of their wording. Only the Spanish version is legally valid.

 

2. Booking process

 

Availability: The reservation is subject to the availability of the requested vehicle on the selected date.

Confirmation: The customer will receive a confirmation email once the booking has been completed.

Booking options:  The customer may: Make a pre‑booking without payment.

 

3. Cancellations and refunds

 

Cancellation period: Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance are entitled to free cancellation of the reservation.

Cancellation fees: Cancellations made outside the indicated period are subject to a charge of 1 rental day at the applicable rate.

Refunds: Refunds are made using the same payment method used by the customer.

 

4. Use of the vehicle

 

Conditions of use: The customer undertakes to use the vehicle properly and in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Liability: The customer will be liable for any damage caused to the vehicle during the rental period, unless additional insurance has been taken out and no negligence has been committed.

Fuel: The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as when it was delivered.

 

5. Insurance and coverages

 

The vehicles include compulsory basic insurance. The customer may take out additional cover to cancel the excess; this can be taken out on our website under EXTRAS / FULL COVERAGE (price according to category). Please check the details during the booking process.

 

6. Right of withdrawal

 

In accordance with current regulations, the right of withdrawal does not apply to vehicle rental services that are provided on a specific date or during a specific period.

 

7. Changes to the service

 

Muévete con Pepe SL reserves the right to modify the characteristics of the rental service for operational or legal reasons, always ensuring that the customer is informed in advance.

 

8. Jurisdiction and applicable law

 

These General Terms and Conditions are governed by Spanish law. For the resolution of disputes, the parties shall submit to the courts and tribunals of the customer’s place of residence, provided that the customer is considered a consumer. Otherwise, they shall submit to the courts of the registered office of Muévete con Pepe SL.
